Remember when driving in India was a real adventure, with bumpy roads and long travel times? Well, things are changing fast! India is building new expressways that will make traveling between cities much faster, smoother, and more enjoyable.
Delhi-Mumbai Expressway: Connecting India’s Major Cities
The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is going to be the longest expressway in India, stretching over 1,350 kilometers. It will have eight lanes, and they might even add more lanes later! This expressway will connect Delhi to many important cities in other states, like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. Once it’s finished, it will cut the travel time between Delhi and Mumbai in half, making it much quicker to get between these two big cities.
Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: A Scenic Getaway
The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is another exciting project. Dehradun is a popular place for people from Delhi to visit for a weekend trip or to explore the beautiful state of Uttarakhand. This new expressway will make getting there much faster, cutting the travel time from 6 hours to just 3 hours.
Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway: Speeding Up Travel in the South
The Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway is also being built, and parts of it are already open! When it’s fully finished in August 2025, it will cut the travel time between Bengaluru and Chennai from 6 hours to just 3 hours.
