Punjab Expressway

Exciting news for travelers in Punjab! The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is constructing a new 110-kilometer expressway that will make it much faster and easier to reach Chandigarh from various locations in the state.

Enhanced Connectivity

This new expressway will connect several key areas, including:

  • Bathinda
  • Muktasar
  • Abohar
  • Rajasthan

It will also link Chandigarh to other important cities like Barnala, Malerkotla, Khanna, Sirhind, and Mohali, significantly improving connectivity across the region.

Reduced Travel Time

The expressway is expected to cut the distance between Bathinda and Chandigarh by 50 kilometers, making travel more convenient and efficient. Travelers from Bathinda will no longer need to pass through Sangrur and Patiala to reach Chandigarh, saving valuable time.

Economic Benefits

The new expressway will also connect to the economic corridor being developed between Ludhiana and Ajmer, further promoting trade and business opportunities in the region.

Construction Progress

Construction is already underway on the Sirhind-Mohali section of the expressway. In the near future, work will begin on the road connecting Sirhind to Barnala.

A Greenfield Project

The expressway is being built as a greenfield project, meaning it is being constructed in an area without existing road infrastructure. It will also connect with the ongoing six-lane road being built between Bathinda and Ludhiana.

Benefits for Punjab

This new expressway is expected to bring numerous benefits to Punjab, including:

  • Improved travel convenience and reduced travel time.
  • Enhanced connectivity between key cities and regions.
  • Increased economic growth and development.
  • Upgraded infrastructure and transportation network.

The new expressway is a welcome development for Punjab, promising to make travel more efficient and contribute to the state’s overall progress.
